The OHSU School of Dentistry building structure was demolished during the first quarter of 2018. Removal of the structure was expected to start in January and be completed by April 2018. Demolition of the structure was completed by use of boom mounted crushing jaws.
OHSU and Turner Construction were interested in taking measures to help ensure demolition activities would not adversely impact the indoor air quality of the surrounding facilities.
NWESI’s involvement was to assist in the evaluation of measures that would be implemented to minimize the demolition debris (dust) impact on the HVAC systems serving the following buildings: Kohler Pavilion (KPV), Oregon Hospital South (OHS) and Casey Eye Institute (CEI), Veterans Hospital and bridge (VA) and Doernbecher Children’s Hospital (DCH).
