Project Description: The construction of this new multipurpose detention facility included an intake and assessment center; a 56-bed detention center (including support areas such as medical services, physical education, and laundry), staff support areas, and a multi-purpose area for court hearings, visitation, meetings, etc. This project was a participant in the Portland General Electric Earth Advantage Program that focuses on energy efficiency, quality indoor environment, environmental responsibility and resource efficiency. Outcomes included energy and water savings, reduced maintenance and operating costs, healthier indoor environment, use of natural daylight, building systems that work together effectively and reduced environmental impacts and water conservation.
NWESI Scope: Commissioned systems include building automation systems; all equipment of the heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems, refrigeration systems, life safety systems (fire alarm, egress pressurization, fire protection, etc.), emergency power and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, lighting control systems, domestic water systems, security and CCTV systems.
