Hillsboro High School Retro-Commissioning
Location: Hillsboro, OR
Project Size: 256,000 sq.ft.
Project Description: HSD chose to retro-commission Hillsboro High School to identify deficiencies with the current equipment to guide decisions for future repairs, upgrades, or replacement. There was a strong correlation between areas with occupant complaints and equipment deficiencies. Commissioning found numerous units not running (and hadn’t been for years), heating or cooling not working, unreasonable control sensor inputs, incorrect schedules, inadequate outside air, and other sequence issues. NWESI also provided TAB services to this project.
NWESI Scope: Review as-built drawings and sequences of operation, distribute, collect, and analyze occupant surveys to determine trouble spots, verify system condition and maintenance, perform functional testing for HVAC equipment and controls (15 multi-zone units, 10 air conditioning units, 2 make-up air units, 32 exhaust fans, 11 unit ventilators, 15 rooftop units, pumps, boiler, and terminal units).
