Portland-based, Northwest Engineering Service Inc. (NWESI), the parent company to Eugene-based Air Introduction & Regulation of Eugene, Inc. (AIR, Inc.) announces the retirement of Tom Hooker, Vice President and Division Manager of Air Inc, after 41 years of employment.

Tom began his tenure with AIR, Inc. in 1975. He graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in Science. In 1995, he became certified as a NEBB TAB Professional and in 2000 he became certified through NEBB as a Commissioning Professional in Building Systems. Tom also served as NEBB’s Pacific Northwest Chapter President from 2006 to 2010, and was a member of the NEBB Board of Directors at the national level. During Tom’s tenure, he completed over 2000 Test and Balance Projects from small package units to large variable air volume lab systems.

Tom’s expertise and knowledge of the industry will be missed by everyone at NWESI as well as by the valued clients Tom worked with over so many years. The good news is that a very capable successor, Chris Johnson, is ready to provide a seamless transition for Tom’s former role.  Chris is a 19 year veteran at AIR and has solid credentials of his own.  He’s provided services on 500+ Air & Hydronic projects and is a NEBB Certified TAB Professional.  His commitment to clients, industry knowledge and attention to detail puts him in a strong position to take over leadership of AIR’s team.

All of us at NWESI hope that Tom gets the most out of his retirement years, outside and on the river. He certainly earned it with many years of unwavering dedication to the industry.
